Spa Services FAQ’s

What does a full body massage consist of?

A full body massage includes the: scalp, face, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, legs, feet, back and hips.

What do I need to wear to my massage?

You can wear whatever you would like. Clients are free to take off their clothing down to swimsuit level and are asked to get under the drape. This way, their clothing will not be stained with massage oil and they can still preserve their modesty and comfortability.

Is a prenatal massage safe?

Prenatal massage has been proven to be both safe and beneficial tomother and baby. However, in the best interest of my clients, I only do prenatal amerunum massages for mothers in their second and third trimesters as the first trimester is a very delicate time in which miscarriages are more likely to occur.

Doula Services FAQ’s

Why should I hire a birth doula?

A doula clarifies the labor stages and guides you in communication with your medical team of doctors, nurses, or midwives. She fosters tranquility and is trained to support you during labor with soothing techniques to ease discomfort and promote safe progress. As labor draws near, a doula coaches expectant birthing families on comfort and relaxation techniques, offers nurturing emotional support, provides information on labor and the birth, and offers information about options and medical procedures available during labor. While other staff on your medical team will need to tend to other patients, A doula never leaves your side.

What are the benefits of a birth doula?

Birth doulas are statistically proven to improve outcomes:

  • 31% decrease in the use of Pitocin
  • 28% decrease in the risk of C-section
  • 12% increase in the likelihood of a spontaneous vaginal birth
  • 9% decrease in the use of any medications for pain relief
  • 14% decrease in the risk of newborns being admitted to a special care nursery
  • 34% decrease in the risk of being dissatisfied with the birth experience

Does insurance cover the cost of a birth doula?

I encourage my clients to check with their insurance providers as some do reimburse for the cost of midwives and doulas. However, in the state of Georgia, most insurances including medicaid do not cover the cost of birth doulas.

Are doulas only for “natural” childbirth?

I shy away from using the term natural to describe birth as I believe all

birth is beautiful and natural in its own right. However, many hold the misconception of doulas only being beneficial to mothers who aim to achieve an unmedicated birth. My goal is to support every mother and family achieve THEIR ideal birthing experience, this looks different for everyone and that is okay. So whether you want an unmedicated vaginal water birth in your bathtub at home or a planned cesarean in the hospital, I will be happy to support you as your doula and stand by you throughout your journey.

I want an unassisted birth. Can I still have you as my doula?

I am not against unassisted birth and I believe that every mother and family should have the freedom to choose and carry out their ideal birth. However, due to liability reasons, I cannot attend your home birth unless a licensed midwife is present.

I have my partner and family to support me. Why do I need a doula?

The support of your partner and or family is a valuable asset to your birthing experience. I believe that there is a sacred intimacy between two partners during labor and birth and I in no way intend to interfere with that. Instead, I aim to bring peace and serenity into your birthing space, give you and your partner the courage to advocate for yourselves, help your partner comfort you by showing them various therapeutic techniques, and assisting as needed to make sure the two of you are well taken care of both physically and emotionally. I am trained and certified in supporting mothers through pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum. Your partner and family are experts when it comes to comforting you. Together, we can work in harmony to support you through this beautiful journey.

When should I hire a doula? Is it too late?

It is never too late to hire me as your doula. However, in order to maximize your services with me, I encourage mothers to hire me earlier on in their pregnancy so that we can have up to 3 prenatal visits. This gives us ample time to create a customized birth plan, go over your options and rights so that you can make informed decisions, practice hands on comfort measures and techniques, meet your healthcare provider and tour your place of birth, pack your hospital bag, and most importantly establish a relationship with one another so that I can better support you and your partner during this special time.
